Egg-less in Delhi

You’ve lost count of the times you’ve heard this one — I know you are vegetarian, but don’t tell me you don’t even eat eggs. Well, that’s what you are, and happily so. But often you get stuck with the thin edge of a nonexistent wedge of pie or pastry because they all, sigh, have eggs.

Our Trendy Taster went searching for egg-less delights, and these four topped her list: Cookies at Mrs. Kaur’s Premium Cookies: Gobble the gorgeous Florentine or Cocoa Ginger ones, and doggy-bag the rest. As the line goes, no one can eat just one. Rs 35 a piece; 73 A Khan Market, and 29/6 East Patel Nagar. Telephone: 42480808/2345; www.mrskaurs.com.

Sorbets at Gelato Vittorio: Teeth-tinglingly delish and, oh joy, fat-free. Dig into the exotic Kiwi Sorbet and Wildberry Yoghurt. Indulge. Rs 170 for a half- litre. M 69, GK 1; Telephone: 32512527; www.gelatovittorio.com.

Blueberry cheesecake at Angels in My Kitchen: This cozy bakery dishes out the cheesiest cheesecake. Ever. Forget the calorie-count, it’s fruit, isn’t it? Rs 45 a piece. Defence Colony Market, and Shop no 9AB, New Friends Colony. Telephone: 51631239/40.

Banoffee pie at Big Chill: Banana and toffee melted together in a flaky piecrust. Top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Divine. Rs 90 for a slice; 68, Khan Market; Telephone: 41757588/99.

Just right for these Navratri days, when Delhi joins you in your pristine egg-less state.
